An active 55+ community, The Villages is located about 20 miles south of Ocala and 60 miles northwest of Orlando, spanning parts of Lake, Marion, and Sumter Counties, and encompasses 5.6 square miles.
The Villages is a golf cart community, with special transportation trails built for golf carts, and is comprised of "hometown" communities tied together with turn-of-the-century type downtown squares where free entertainment is available every night. Every aspect of comfortable living is available to you there, from dining to shopping to golf (8 championship golf courses) all within a short walk or golf car ride from your front door. The list of activities available to you is nearly endless including shopping, entertainments, sports or social clubs, and even includes a polo field!
