This Month In Real Estate: 2009 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit Special Edition

SPECIAL UPDATEGreat news!  The $8,000 tax credit has been extended until June 30th of 2010!   But you must be under contract by April 30th, 2010.  It also extends the tax credit for existing home owners in the amount of $6,500.  So it is a great time to sell and move up!  You are likely in a home that has lost value.  But imagine how much the price of your dream home that you couldn't afford 3 years ago has dropped.

Most people forget that the current housing bust is nearly three years old. Home sales peaked in

July 2005.
